Message from = the=20 dotMobi Advisory Group Team

We=20 have had an exciting amount of work initiated = for the=20 dotMobi Advisory Group (MAG) by our MAG members = and=20 dotMobi in February, leading us into a busy = month of=20 March. Our inaugural dotMobi Advisory Group 2007 = Summit=20 held during the 2007 3GSM World Congress was a = well=20 attended success; our MAG Task Force Chairs are = starting=20 to scope 2007 initiatives for Mobile Email, = Mobile=20 Browsing, Mobile Commerce and Mobile = Advertising; and=20 our MAG Steering Committee elections are on the = horizon=20 =96 providing an equal opportunity for all = nominated MAG=20 members to secure a leadership role in shaping = the=20 future of the nascent .mobi domain-based mobile = internet=20 economy.

The=20 dotMobi team has also been quite busy lately = with over=20 400,000 .mobi domains now registered, a new web=20 developer support program being launched and a = live=20 auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. with 15 premium domain = names=20 being sold.

As=20 we head into March, the MAG will be launching = its on=20 line Members Forum to initiate dialogue, = discussion,=20 debate and resolution for MAG Task Force = initiatives;=20 actively participate at the upcoming CTIA = Wireless 2007=20 and ICANN-Lisbon conferences; and prepare the = MAG=20 members=92 agenda for our next dotMobi Policy = Advisory=20 Board (PAB) =91face-to-face=92 meeting scheduled = in Dublin,=20 Ireland at the end of April 2007. As always, our = goal is=20 to provide MAG members with increased policy, = product=20 and market development influence and = opportunities=20 through dotMobi sanctioned=20 programs.

The=20 MAG now has over 25 members and we continue to = grow=20 weekly. New members joining the MAG in February = were=20 Sony, Millennial Media, Instant Access = Technologies, and=20 Nubiq. As the MAG = continues=20 its membership recruitment efforts we invite you = to=20 contact us to find out how you can be actively = part of=20 developing the 2007 MAG Agenda; participate in = our MAG=20 Task Force programs and upcoming MAG events at = CTIA=20 Wireless 2007 in Florida and ICANN-Lisbon in = Portugal;=20 and be considered for nomination during the = pending MAG=20 Steering Committee = elections.

dotMobi=20 Advisory Group 2007 Summit = Review

The=20 dotMobi Advisory Group held its first Summit during = the 3GSM=20 World Congress. Keynote addresses were given by = James=20 Pearce, Vice President, Technology of dotMobi = and=20 Tim = Ruiz,=20 Vice President of Corporate Development and = Policy of=20 the Go Daddy Group.

In=20 his address, Tim=20 Ruiz noted =93Making = the internet=20 mobile is inevitable. Ultimately it is what = consumers=20 want. Faster data networks and handsets capable = of=20 taking advantage of these faster networks are = becoming=20 more commonplace.=94 Comparing today=92s = internet=20 capabilities with the 1990=92s Tim also pointed = out that=20 =93In = the early=20 1990=92s broadband access was readily available = and=20 computer manufacturers were increasingly = producing=20 internet friendly machines to cope with a = maturing=20 browsing market. Similarly today, mobile = browsing=20 technology is improving daily and data packages = are=20 becoming more affordable. However as off-deck = content=20 becomes more mainstream, the role of dotMobi, = the=20 dotMobi Advisory Group and the collaboration of = its=20 members to suggest and agree consistent = standards for=20 mobile content, is = vital.=94

The=20 Summit = message clearly=20 supported that .mobi is more than just a domain = name.=20 The domain name is just one important part of = the=20 ecosystem that contributes towards bringing the = total=20 internet experience to the mobile device. It is = about=20 consistency, standardization through Style = Guides and=20 ultimately a good user = experience.

Other=20 highlights of the Summit=20 included the =93Why .mobi domains Industry = Roundtable=94,=20 with contribution from Orange, = Telecom Italia,=20 Go Daddy, ooober, = Nokia and=20 dotMobi.

MAG Task=20 Forces for 2007

At=20 the Members Only meeting during 3GSM, greater = insight=20 into the important relationships between mTLD = Top Level=20 Domain Ltd, the Policy Advisory Board and the = MAG, and=20 the current roadmaps being pursued by each were=20 given.

Important=20 work to be done and on the MAG members radar for = launch=20 in Q1 2007 are Mobile Email, Mobile Browsing, = Mobile=20 Commerce and Mobile Advertising. Members agreed = that a=20 more aggressive launch in March 2007 was = necessary to=20 respond to the demand from mobile users for a = more=20 complete user experience. MAG will be updating = its=20 current web site in March 2007 to enable, and = activate,=20 its Members Forum for on line discussion groups = to=20 providing input and direction to MAG Task Force=20 initiatives.

Other=20 key Task Force creations discussed at the = meeting=20 included Mobile Search, Mobile Mapping, Mobile=20 Venturing, Market Research initiatives, dotMobi = Style=20 Guide Compliance enforcement and Mobile Internet = in=20 Developing Countries =96 work has already begun = within the=20 MAG to recruit key organisations to lead these=20 initiatives.

MAG=20 Steering Committee Elections coming in April = 2007=20

Members=20 from each of the Associate, Full and Foundation = Sponsor=20 member levels have the opportunity to be = nominated and=20 voted onto the MAG Steering Committee. The = composition=20 as defined within the MAG Charter allows 2 = Associate=20 Member seats, 5 Full Member seats, and 6 = Foundation=20 Sponsor Member seats.

Some=20 of the key involvement once elected to the MAG = Steering=20 Committee members includes the ability to: vote = on all=20 MAG output, including policy put forward to the = Policy=20 Advisory Board; vote on the approval of the = formation of=20 MAG Working Groups, Task Forces and = sub-committees;=20 participate in pre-approved MAG industry, media = and=20 public relations activities; and stand for one = of the 5=20 MAG seats on the Policy Advisory Board.=20

MAG=20 Steering Committee elections will take place in = April=20 2007.
