The dotMobi Advisory Group (MAG) has grown to over 100+ global members,
continues to develop global initiatives and supports industry alliance programs. Highlights of recent MAG and MAG member community developments include:

  • MAG demonstrates prototype of the World Digital Library on the mobile web at UNESCO in Paris, France: MAG contributors included Akmin, dotMobi, iLoop Mobile, Carlson Marketing, Vodafone and Nokia.
  • MAG Members meet at CTIA for the preview of the upcoming Mobile Advertising in a .mobi World: Position Paper; to be released at ad:tech New York, 5-7 November 2007.
  • MAG partners with Informa for its Mobile Web Global Series as the Official Event of the dotMobi Advisory Group:  (http://www.advisorygroup.mobi/Mobile_Web_USA_brochure.pdf)
  • New MAG members include: the #1 .mobi Forum – mobility.mobi – as the very first MAG Chapter; SinglePoint; M:Metrics and industry thought leader Tomi T. Ahonen.
  • MAG endorses Mobile Marketing Association’s Mobile Marketing Forum event 14 November 2007 in Los Angeles; including MAG Member discount offer.
  • dotMobi announces its second on-line Premium Names Auction with MAG member Sedo to start 31 October 2007; the first ever held in September 2007 was a huge success with almost $900,000 worth of .mobi domains sold.
  • dotMobi is also auctioning 6 of its premium names through MAG member GoDaddy from 6-8 November 2007; names include moving.mobi, houses.mobi, apartments.mobi, collegefootball.mobi, media.mobi and dentists.mobi.

dotMobi Premium Name Auctions

dotMobi successfully closed its first-ever online premium name auction on October 3. dotMobi auctioned 100 domain names through Sedo.com in the first of a series of 3 such auctions and generated nearly $900,000 in sales for the continued creation of mobile of mobile content tools like dotMobi's popular http://ready.mobi and http://site.mobi tools.

 

The second auction will open on 31st October and will run for 7 days – full details can be found at http://premiumauction.mobi. Names relating to the travel and dating industries are sure to prove popular and with content rules applied to the names, there should be some exciting new sites coming on-line over the next few months.

 

The third and final Sedo auction will take place on 28th November with the names yet to be announced.

 

dotMobi is also auctioning 6 of its premium names through its registrar partner GoDaddy. These names, also with attached content rules, are: moving.mobi, houses.mobi, apartments.mobi, collegefootball.mobi, media.mobi and dentists.mobi. This on-line auction will take place 6-8 November and can be accessed at: http://www.godaddysignatureauctions.com.
